Hi all.
I remember when i was about 8 or something like 15 years ago one of my friends had a clock that could tell the weather as well. He used to press the button to hear the time and after the clock was saying the time it was saying a simple description about the weather something like "The weather will be sunny."
I couldn't speak any English then so i don't know exactly what the clock was saying or if the description was good.
But i never seen a clock like that since then. Did anyone else had a clock like that? Are they still available?
Was it acurate about its forecasts?
Any oppinions are welcome here.
Thanks
Nikos

Wow, that's pretty cool! Never heard of such a thing. Have you googled it? I have a clock that speaks the time and the temp, but that's about all. smile!

I had a friend who's clock just told the time and temperature. I've never heard of or seen a clock that gives descriptions about the weather or anything, but now you got me all interested in finding one. Those sound cool.

I know and I have the exact thing you're talking about. IT is no longer available unless you were lucky like me and found it on Ebay. Keep checking there because somebody might sell one. It was called the Enews Weather Message 2000 and it did give the time and a simple weather prediction, such as "The weather will be sunny" or "The weather will be getting worse." I heard once that the device ahd a simple barometer in it, so that's how it could tell the weather, but don't quote me. I got a similar device that was made by the Sharper Image. That one also is no longer made. Your best bet is to find a clock that will give you either the room temperature or indoor and outdoor temperature.

Hi Godzilla-On-Toast. You are lucky having one of these.
the one my friend had was from England. Somebody got it for him. Maybe it was from the RNIB but they don't have such a thing on their website.
They have got other types of clocks.
I don't understand why they don't make them any more because i thought a clock like that would be popular to the blind people. But i don't know how acurat clocks like that are. I have got a key ring from the RNIB which tels the temperature of the room in celcius.

http://www.maxiaids.com. It's an American website, so if you're outside the country you'll ahve to do a currency conversion. Also, most talking clocks these days are actually not made specifically for the blind, but they're made as a cheap novelty, but some clocks come and go, depending on the manufacturer.
